Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! In my opinion, the best two flea and tick preventative medications are Bravecto and Frontline plus. Any of those would be good options for him. Good luck and have a good night!

The Vetguard plus contains a product that is not good for killing fleas, so it makes sense why you are still seeing them. The Petarmor is a totally different product, so it's safe to use and has ingredients that are good at killing fleas. I'd recommend trying that product and seeing how it goes. The fleas should all be dead after 3 days. I hope that helps and you get this problem under control soon.

The most comprehensive protection you can get that is also the easiest to apply and has very, very few side effects would be Revolution. I highly recommend this. I will provide broad spectrum coverage for fleas, roundworms, hookworms, ear mites, scabies, etc. This will give you peace of mind. You can get this product easily by going to one of Petco's VETCO clinics inside their stores. Take Ford with you as the vet will need to see him. They do not charge an exam fee so all you will need to pay for is the product. Hope this helps. Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear about the flea problem. Yes, you can use Capstar with any topical flea/tick medicine as far as I know. I don't know of any that Capstar is contraindicated. Great question and good luck.
