The Internet says a lot of things. Petfood is one of those issues that people can have a lot of convictions about. However the question is have those individuals had actual training about pet nutrition. In making choices about pet food, I often look at a history of recalls. Newer pet food companies and boutique brands are more likely to have recall issues because they tend to not have as much quality control in the production of their food. Mistakes do happen and any company can have a recall but that is something to pay very close attention to. The older, more established companies tend to have good protocols in place to catch any errors before their food gets out on the shelves and pets get sick. I believe Nutro does offer a line of pet food that is more holistically-based as well. You should be able to find a lot of variety within the brand and know that it is all high-quality. Most pets who eat Nutro tend to have good coat and stool quality too, this is a good sign. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.

I personally prefer Nutro. It tastes good so dogs and puppies like it and in general it is lower in calories so it's an excellent food to stay on lifelong without becoming overweight. I find a brand I like, and that my dog likes, and I stay with that brand for the life of the dog. I do not like switching brands all the time, it can cause stomach upset and make fussy eaters. I go from puppy, to adult, to less active if needed, then senior all in the same brand. Nutro has excellent choices in all of the different age categories. Labs have a tendency to grow too fast, and as they get older to get fat. Therefore I like to use Nutro large breed puppy dry, then switch to adult large breed, and weight management later in life if needed. I like Nutro because it’s a complete diet and lower in calorie than most of the other dog foods. Dogs like it and there are several different Nutro varieties for you to choose from. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! As you have probably noticed, there is an overwhelming amount of different diets in the market. I really like Purina Pro Plan shredded blends that you can consider. Nulo also makes good diets so that would also be a good option for Bell. Good luck and have a great day!
