Hello, thank you for using Pet Coach. Unfortunately there are no food toppers that I am aware of that will be suitable for a cat with kidney disease. Sticking to a strict prescription kidney diet is the BEST treatment for kidney disease and I don't suggest you stray from that. I don't know if you are only feeding Tony the dry formula but most come also as canned food so you could always top off with the canned food. You could even puree it into a gravy if you wish. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Eric. You may ask your veterinarian about Purina Hydracare. It is a specially formulated liquid nutritional supplement for cats. It provides fluid as well as electrolytes. It is generally tasty to cats. It is designed for renal disease in cats, but could potentially benefit Eric as well. I hope this information helps!

My dog is not the biggest fan of dry food, so i try to mix it with food topper, but he ends up only eating the food topper and later he’ll eat the dry food. The one I buy is from pedigree, and the recommended amount is 300g of this + 75g of dry food
Hello. The food toppers are not considered complete foods & they are not nutritionally balanced. If he is eating the recommended amount of dry food for his age & weight, then you can continue with the food topper, but if not & you want to increase his nutritional intake of a balanced diet, then it is best to mix a good canned or wet food in with his dry instead of using the topper. Personally, I feel that if the topper is not nutritionally balanced, then you are feeding empty calories & the only ones who benefit from these products are the manufacturers. Because this food isn't prescription, it won't be formulated to be lower in phosphorus and protein. I would speak to Tony's vet to see if they recommend using something as a topper to get him to eat his food.

Is it normal that she drinks alot of water she mainly eats dry food I try to make her eat wet food but she doesnt like it I thought of buying her the food toppers would that be enough protien in the food toppers and if she eats dry food too
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Rose. If she is eating a nutritionally balanced kitten food, it is ok that she only eats dry food. A proper food will be certified by AAFCO. Wet food will provide more moisture, but it sounds like she is drinking enough water. If you think her thirst is excessive, she should see her veterinarian as this can indicate a disease. However, it is rare in a kitten. I hope this information helps!
