Hi, would you think that the Nylabone healthy edibles can be good and safe to give my dog? Thank you for your help Diana
Hi Diana, I have not yet tried the Nylabone Healthy Edibles with my dogs, but I just looked at the ingredients and think they might be a nice treat for Joey. Certainly, I always recommend monitoring a dog with any edible chew because they will sometimes bite off too large of a chunk, but I suspect that will be less of a problem with the Healthy Edibles than some of the other chew options on the market. Looking for a good chew toy for Jasper,we were giving him the purina dental chewz but now it seems like he is eating them to fast,tried a few different ones but don't seem to last,any suggestions?
To keep dogs entertained for a longer period of time, I like to feed dehydrated chews. My largest dogs prefers bully sticks (https://www.bestbullysticks.com/4-inch-odor-free-bully-sticks) and my smaller dog loves dehydrated fish skins (https://www.thehonestkitchen.com/beams). They also like dehydrated sweet potato chews like Sam's Yams, but I might do something smaller for Jasper like their Bichon Fries (https://www.frontporchpets.com/sam-s-yams-bichon-fries-new-larger-size-12-5-oz.html). There are a large number of dehydrated chews on the market now, so you might ask at your local pet store to see if they have any suggestions for you. Please let me know if that was helpful. Our puppy is 8 weeks. Like to chew everything. He’s got chew toys, different types. Are dogbones ok? Rawhide? Recommendations? Pics for ides/reference.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Chewing is a normal but frustrating part of puppy development. I do not recommend rawhides or dogbones for puppies, as they can cause an upset tummy or large pieces can get swallowed and cause a GI obstruction. A great option for chewing puppies are ice cubes. You can mix together water and a small amount of low sodium chicken broth to give them flavoring, which are great options for chewing! Kong toys or other rubber toys are a great option, and they can be filled with peanut butter or spray cheese, then put in the freezer o allow them to last longer. Puzzle toys (such as busy buddy, etc) can also be great options. Good luck!

You are correct that antlers and nylon bones will break teeth, but they can also cause obstructions and/or perforations in the GI tract. I recommend a Kong toy. Those are very tough chew toys that are hard to dogs to destroy. You can also fill them with treats. I'd recommend, as an occasional treat, filling it with peanut butter and freezing it overnight in the freezer. That will keep her occupied for a while.
