What summer products protect my dog's paws, coat, and repel bugs?
For days where it is very hot, you do want to avoid taking your dog for a walk at the hottest parts of the day (mid-day) especially on paved areas as your dog's feet can get burned. They do sell dog booties that you can put on your dog's feet to help protect them. If she has no skin/coat issues, just a gentle oatmeal shampoo is fine for bathing when needed. Most dogs do not need frequent bathing unless they are getting very dirty and bathing too often can dry their skin out. I wouldn't bathe more than every other week unless needed. If they are not, I would ask your vet what products are available where you live for these issues.

Whether or not it is safe to leave your dog at your sisters will depend on your dog. If he has never been around children before or has shown any aggression towards children, then it is less safe. No dog should be left unattended around children, so it is best if your dog hasn't been around the baby to keep it in an area separated from where the baby will be- either a separate area of the house or outdoors. Some dogs are fine with babies, others may be made anxious by the presence of a baby or they may view the baby as a prey due to small size and the funny noises the baby makes. Since your dog is so small, perhaps putting it in a pen inside your sister's house would work. He shouldn't be hard to contain due to his size. Whether you should bring him with you is going to depend on where you area going- do they allow dogs? will it be very hot outside? will you have to leave the dog in a car? It can get hot VERY quickly in a car in warm weather even with windows rolled down, so it is not recommended to leave a dog in a car in the summer with warm weather, so unless the places you are traveling allow pets it may be best to leave him behind. Keeping him cool will involve providing access to fresh water, shade, and not leaving him in a car or outdoors for extended periods of time in the warm weather. My playful dog needs toys! What are the best and safest options?
Chewing on toys is a great activity for dogs to help them burn off energy, keep them occupied, and help keep them from chewing on other things in the house that are inappropriate for them to chew on. Dogs have individual preferences for the types of toys they chew on, so it may take a bit of experimenting to find out what Abby likes. Rope toys, soft toys and rubber chew toys are all good options. There are even puzzle toys where you can hide food and that will keep your pup busy trying to get the food out. Avoid any toys that are too hard- you should be able to easily dent the surface with a fingernail, as anything harder than that could lead to fracturing of the teeth. Avoid offering bones, antler, and similar objects for this reason. Always supervise play, and if you notice your dog trying to eat any pieces of the toys, take them away, as the pieces could cause a blockage of the intestines that could lead to the need for surgery to remove it.

What are the best enrichment toys and activities for senior dogs?
Great question! Many dogs of any age enjoy enrichment toys that are either balls that bounce unpredictably or puzzle toys that release small treats. Peanut and his friend are still pretty agile, a good game of fetch or playing "hide and seek" with a toy can be a lot fun for everyone. Kong toys that you can fill with peanut butter work great and you can find the kong toys online or at your local pet store.
