Urinating and defecation out of the litter box are commonly cause by feline stress. True, sometimes it can be cause by too little social interaction, but it could also be cause by myriad other things. You may consider supplements like Feliway ( http://m.pet-supplies.drsfostersmith.com/search?w=feliway%20for%20cats ) or Hill’s c/d stress ( http://m.pet-supplies.drsfostersmith.com/search?w=C%2Fd+stress ). Poor Lalu! It sounds like he's quite worried about having to be around your other cat since they don't get along, as well as being a somewhat anxious kitty in general. There are a few things you can do to help. First, I would make sure that you have multiple litter boxes, food and water bowls, resting places, scratching posts, and other resources in different parts of the house so that he doesn't have to go around your other cat - this can help tremendously to reduce stress in multi-cat households. Especially try to make sure that all of these things are available in the areas that he normally likes to spend time in - many anxious cats have accidents outside the litter box, or don't eat well, because they can't get to their litter box or food bowl without crossing the other cat. You can also try Feliway pheromone diffusers throughout the house to help reduce stress and promote more social behavior. Finally, you could also use a natural calming supplement like Zylkene or Composure to help with his anxiety - these can be ordered online without a prescription, and are very helpful for some anxious cats.

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Unfortunately no. I would keep her nails trimmed, cutting them every 2-3 weeks. You can cover your bed with a blanket to protect your good bed cover. And you can apply nail caps. Other options is to keep her off the bed with noise deterrents. Kneading is a natural behavior for cats. https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/soft-claws-clear-cat-nail-caps I wish you the best!

Hello. This is literally an age old question & basically it all goes back to this: no one knows what goes on in a cats head. I am not just being facetious, but even my cats drive me crazy sometimes. Food, toys, beds, cat condos all go through love/hate phases all the time. I think it is so wonderful that you adopted him, & as long as he loves being with you, the warming bed may just be too foreign to him. There may also be a very low quality hum or vibration that goes along with the heating elements that just puts him off. If he loves his condo & his blankets, that may be all he needs, plus food & love. Again, thanks for taking him in & thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Cats are rarely impressed by travelling and it can cause much anxiety. Calming supplements or royal canin calm food can be very helpful, as can pheromone products. Familiar food, toys and bedding are helpful also
