I like either Marshall's or Mazuri pelleted diets. Thanks for reaching out about your ferret. Marshal Farms has probably placed more research into ferret nutrition than anyone and is considered a very good, complete diet. A meat diet is wrought with complications: bacterial infections, inappropriate vitamin and mineral balance, etc. and is difficult to recommended as all meats have different nutritive value. It is recommended to stay with a the Marshal Farms or other good quality ferret food. Good luck.

Yes! Holiday definitely needs medical care ASAP! I can’t see the eye in the picture but there appears to be raw, likely infected skin cranial to the eyes, possibly draining discharge from an eye infection (hard to see the eye in this picture). Holiday could benefit from sedation, very careful clipping of the crusted fur on his face, cleaning of the raw skin with chlorhexidine, a topical antibiotic /steroid ointment for the skin +/- injectable Baytril, likely ophthalmic antibiotics for the eye and an e-collar to prevent scratching and further injury. Holiday is very cute…best wishes for a quick recovery!

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I really like the angora and mini lop breeds as they are beautiful and fun to keep. Try to get to see the rabbit you are choosing for a bit so that you can make sure that he is social and interactive. Also, make sure that the rabbit is eating well and has been evaluated by a veterinarian to ensure that he is doing well. Good luck!

It sounds like Marshall has an eye infection. That needs to be checked out by a vet promptly. I'd take him into one now. While there, the vet can give him a health check and discuss this behavior at night.
