Is Purina Layer Pellets a good brand for chickens? What else is there (better or worse idc)
Hello. Some feed co-ops will have their own brands that they mill themselves, & there are regional graineries as well. Nutrena is a well known national brand, as is Dumor. Personally, I use Purina & Nutrena, altho in a pinch, I will pick up the brand made by a nearby grain mill. So yes, Purina is an excellent brand. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Choose a commercial pelleted diet labeled as "all flock" or "flock raiser". This is a complete diet for most chickens. For the hen, you will need to supplement calcium, especially if she is a layer. You can offer her crushed oyster shells freely. Do not use a layer diet for both. The calcium levels would be too high for the rooster leading to potential health issues for him. What are suitable diets for a dog, cat and a horse including water requirements?
Dog: A commercial diet food such as Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, or Iams. It's best to feed a dog a high quality commercial diet because it is extremely difficult to get the correct balance of nutrients a dog needs to be healthy. A dog should have as much water as they want, and it's best to have a source of fresh water available at all times. Cat: As with cats, a commercial diet is best. Cats are obligate carnivores, and they have to have specific levels of protein as well as essential amino acids in order to be healthy. Cats should never be fed a vegetarian diet as that is fatal to them. I'd recommend a high quality cat food such as Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, or Iams. If she is not having any issues, then there is usually nothing more to give her except for plenty of good grass hay, some concentrates, either as a sweet feed or a pelleted feed, & a salt block. We have a senior horse and she’s having a lot of trouble gaining weight, what diet do you recommend
Hello. The first thing to consider is the overall health of your horse. Has she been examined for any medical problems, including intestinal parasites, dental issues, metabolic problems or problems with organ function such as with the liver. If the mare is relatively healthy, a good quality pelleted equine senior feed is best.
