Basic safety rules: Never feed treats out of your hand. Feed treats only in a bucket or bowl. Never enter a stallion pasture without a helmet. Best: Never enter any horse pasture without a helmet. The only way to stop this is by not giving them treats. Horses do not need treats.

A few general recommendations: stick with well known brands with a good reputation. Look for products made in the USA. Kibble works great for treats and I use Purina Pro Plan chicken or lamb and rice. Dry biscuit type treats usually have less calories and salt. The jerky or moist type treats are fine in moderation (they have more calories and salt usually). Lastly, many dogs really like dehydrated chicken livers and chicken jerky. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Hello. The first thing to consider is the overall health of your horse. Has she been examined for any medical problems, including intestinal parasites, dental issues, metabolic problems or problems with organ function such as with the liver. If the mare is relatively healthy, a good quality pelleted equine senior feed is best. To this I will recommend either Manna Pros Equine Accelerator or Cool Calories to get the extra fats & calories an older horse may need. Hope this helps & thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I personally like the Purina Pro Plan diets as well as the Hill's Science Diet foods as I think they are both palatable and highly nutritious. In terms of treats, I think the milk bones products are both nutritious, palatable and reasonably priced. Good luck and best wishes!

It is very difficult for us to recommend products when we don't know what is available to you in your country. Here in the US we would recommend products like these: ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/kaytee-timothy-hay-baked-apple-small-animal-treats ) ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/oxbow-15-oz-oxbow-alfalfa-hay ) ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/you-and-me-small-animal-grape-wood-chews ) I don't think dog biscuits are the best option.
