Hi! If i give my cockatiel millet spray as treat, then what can i hive him for normal foods when he is hungry and in his cage? Thanks for answears
Millet spray makes a great addition to Cheeko's diet, but the main food in the cage should be a good quality seed mix for cockatiels/parakeets. This will contain many different types of seed in a balance to provide appropriate nutrition. I would have this and clean water available at all times. Small pieces of fruit can also be used as treats, and cuttlefish can make good toys to help with calcium balance.

I have a Quaker parrot who is at least 24 years old. I have had him that long but was a rescue so not sure of exact age. I am looking for suggestions on a better senior food for him.
Feed mainly a commercial pelleted diet such as Harrison's, Lafeber or Higgins pellets. This should make up about 80% of the diet. The other 20% can be a mix of a fortified seed mix and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Feed a commercial pelleted diet (Harrison's, Roudybush, Lafeber, Pretty Bird or Exact) supplemented with a small amount of a fortified seed mix, fresh greens and vegetables and cooked foods such as grains, beans and pastas. You can even offer a bit of scrambled eggs, shells included, occasionally.

If you have a local pet store in your location, that's a great place to check for commercial bird foods. You may also need to check online if you don't have anything available. Cockatiel foods are often a blend of seeds and pellets that are nutritionally balanced. Millet seeds, and other small seeds, and some dried fruits and vegetables can also be substituted to balance the diet if a commercial brand isn't available. Fruits such as dried berries, applies, peach, can be tasty, and dried veggies such as spinach and other leafy greens make a great treat.

If Mithu is refusing to eat at all I would be concerned that he is ill. It would be best to bring him to a local vet for an exam to rule out issues such as illness, infection, parasites, nutritional issues, etc that could be causing him to feel ill and not want to eat. If he checks out healthy and just doesn't like his food, a balanced seed and pellet diet is a good base diet that provides plenty of nutrients. You can then add in fruits and veggies as treats to help add some variety and balance things out.
