Hi so my dog takes heartgard plus for her heart worms I need more of the chewable is there a way to reorder the same type the vet already gave me without having to schedule an appointment and waste more money when I know what she needs.
Heartgard plus is a prescription only medication, so you need to get a script from Akita's vet in order to get it. You can call and ask them to write a script for it if she's been seen by the vet within in the last year. Otherwise, you will have to make an appointment.

Tri-Heart is generic Heartgard and is just as effective. I am not sure why your vet won't prescribe it for you. You cannot buy any heartworm prevention over the counter so you will need a prescription. I suggest you bring your dog to one of the VETCO vaccine clinics at your local Petco stores (see schedule below). Bring proof of his last negative heartworm test and they can give you a prescription for the Tri-Heart. There is no charge for the exam. Just the cost of the medication. Hope this helps! Would you recommend Tri-Heart Plus Chewable Tablets for heartworm and Simparica Chewable Tablets for fleas and ticks? I want to get the right brand, but I'm worried about the cost, and these were some of the cheapest I found.
Hello. This is fine to use. I would not recommend giving both of these on the same day. Give one on the first of the month & the second on the 15th so there are no drug interactions. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Simba used to get Heartguard and Frontline every month, but we have moved to Panama, where Heartguard is no longer available. What medicines are equivalent to Heartguard, please?
Fortunately, there are a number of heartworm preventatives similar to Heartgard, including TriHeart Plus and Iverhart. Other options for heartworm prevention have different active ingredients and include Trifexis, Interceptor, Sentinel, Revolution, and Advantage Multi. Simba's vet will be able to prescribe another option and make sure that Simba has had a recent heartworm test.

Is their any difference between "Heartgard Plus" and "Tri-Heart Plus"? What purposes does CBD oil have for Canines?
Your dog is so handsome! Both Heartgard Plus and Tri-Heart Plus protect against heart worms, but I personally like Heartgard Plus best. As of yet, we have very little research on CBD oil in veterinary patients, so we cannot make any recommendations one way or the other about this product - we do not know what an appropriate dose might be, and if there are any potential health concerns or drug interactions in dogs. In addition, because it's a schedule 1 drug, it's illegal for us to prescribe or recommend. I hope this helps!
