My friend just took in a Hyalazion cat, but it won't eat, drink, or anything. She's an older woman, & wanted 2 go get this cat shots but it won't go n the carrier. She has tried food, water, any other suggestions ? Just trying 2 help her out.
Thank you for trying to help this lady out. Anytime a cat is not eating or drinking this is reason for concern and an immediate visit to the vet is warranted. I recommend using Feliway pheromone spray (you can pick this up at PetCo) and spraying it on a towel that you place in the carrier. Hopefully this will entice the cat into the carrier. Good luck!

Hello. The cats & kittens offered at Petco are actually managed by individual rescue groups. Prices will differ from rescue to rescue. All cats can do well if they are played with & fussed over once you get home. Can they get into trouble & sometimes make a mess? Absolutely. If you do not want hair & dander & kitty litter tracked all over the house, you should not have a pet. Cats may need to have their claws trimmed ( NOT REMOVED ) & plenty of opportunities to exercise their claws, otherwise they will scratch your furniture, moldings & walls. You will need different types of scratching surfaces, plenty of toys, a water & food dish, litter box ( or 2 ), & lots of patience. All cats are individuals, so when you go looking to adopt a cat, take your family & give yourself plenty of time to spend with your potential pet, & ask lots of questions about them. Kitten food is ideal for your kitten because it is formulated to help her body grow correctly. There is not a problem with feeding her adult cat food while you wait for kitten food to arrive.

What less expensive cat food brand is healthiest for both indoor and outdoor cats? Is it better to use dry or wet food?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I think the Purina Pro Plan diets are very good and also affordable. Both dry and wet diets are equally good in general especially for younger cats. I prefer wet food in older cats when I am concerned about kidney disease just to increase the water content in the diet. Good luck and have a great day!
