Because fleas are so problematic, flea prevention is essential! Commonly prescribed preventives include oral and topical medications—although injectable flea prevention is available, as well.

Hello, & thank you for using Boop by Petco. I would wait at least another 2 weeks before using another topical. In the meantime, you can definitely use one of the oral cat flea products. You can purchase Capstar in most bigger pet stores. It only lasts 24 hours, but you can administer it several times a week until you can use another topical ( I recommend either Frontline Gold, or Bravecto for cats ). Or you can purchase Comfortis from your veterinarian. With this, 1 pill will last 30 days. I like Revolution, more because it gets heartworms plus hookworms & roundworms, but it is a topical, too. So use an oral tablet for now. They work great. Take care.

Hi, and thanks for your question on Boop by Petco. Heavy flea burdens often take several weeks to completely resolve, so it isn't surprising that you may still find some 3 days after applying Frontline. Remember, the majority of fleas are in the environment, not on the cat, so continue your focus on treating the carpet, bedding, etc. My preferred flea product in cats is Bravecto - this product would come from your vet, so I recommend reaching out to them if you continue seeing fleas on Esko. Hope this helps!

Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. If Piper had an enormous number of fleas, or his environment is absolutely flea infested, then yes, you could still be seeing fleas on him. If you want to increase the flea kill rate on Piper, you can either administer a Capstar tablet ( available OTC ), pick up a Comfortis flea pill from your veterinarian, use a flea spray labeled for cats, place a Seresto Collar on Piper ( I love these ) or bathe Piper in a flea shampoo. If Piper is indoors, please do not forget to treat the house both with a spray & a fogger containing IGRs ( Insect Growth Regulators ). Sometimes it takes time for flea products to work, & it can take 3 months to wipe out a flea infestation. Take care..

Hi Tana! Good for you for adopting Dannie from your aunt! Fleas can be difficult and frustrating to manage! In my experience, I have noticed that Frontline has not been as effective against fleas as it once was. Dosing Dannie with a lower dose of Frontline more frequently is unlikely to kill the fleas he has and is more likely to create resistance to the efficacy of this insecticide. Instead of using Frontline, try giving Dannie one Capstar treatment (available in most pet stores), as this will kill nearly all adult fleas in about 30 minutes. The Capstar is not a lasting preventative, but is effective to initially start management. From there, I would recommend switching to a topical, such as Advantage or Revolution. The other option is to take Dannie to his vet for a prescription for a longer acting oral flea preventative, like Comfortis or Bravecto. Be sure to wash his bedding in hot water regularly and vacuum every day or two. Thoroughly clean the vacuum canister or throw away the v

Yes that sounds like you cat might be having fleas so no harm at all if you want to start the treatment with appropriate dosage of one of the two. I would suggest to go for Advantage though as Frontline seems not working so well at the moment. Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
