The original is still the best. There are generic versions, however I found them unreliable. The price difference is not huge, so I suggest you invest in the original Feliway spray from CEVA. Check on line (search for ) "Compare prices for Feliway spray". You can also start leaving out the carrier with the door open, put a nice bed in it and feed her near it at first, moving the food closer and closer and finally feeding her in the carrier. This will also take some anxiety away. When driving in the car, cover the carrier, so the cat cannot look out the window, as this is really scary for a cat as she cannot understand why everything passes her by so fast.

In addition to the Feliway diffuser I recommend an anti-anxiety supplement. I use Solliquin but there are others at PetCo that are similar. Make sure she has a quiet, private place to go to when she's nervous. I recommend not pushing her to be with you when she's anxious since she may be more aggressive during those times. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Eva.

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! I would ask your Veterinarian for an oral sedative for you to give 2 hours before travel. I would use the Feliway spray in his carriage. Once you arrive at your new home, he should be kept in a room by himself away from the other animals for a week then use a baby gate at the door for the him to see and greet the other cat and dog. Do that for a week, then remove the gate. be sure he has access to this room to run away if he needs to. This room can be your bedroom. Use the Feliway diffuser in this room. If there is aggression between the cats use the Feliway Multicat I wish you the best! https://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=37241 https://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=37240 https://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=37242

The multi cat diffuser may give you slightly better results but they both will likely help. The diffusers are nice because it’s a constant infusion of the pheromone that occurs even when you are not home. Other things that can help Trixie to feel more calm are to provide climbing opportunities that satisfy her natural instincts. A tall cat tree or shelves mounted to the wall with a bed on top can help some cats feel more secure. Set aside 30 minutes a day for vigorous play as tiring her out may result in less anxiety. Royal Canin also makes a diet called Calm that affects the serotonin levels in the brain and some cats do very well on this diet. If she continues not to do well, medications may help. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions!

I haven't used Beaphar products before, but just looking at their ingredients, I would probably recommend using their treats for the actual drive because it has 3 different ingredients that may help with stress. If you think that needs to be combined with a longer lasting product, it looks like the collar has both Valerian and lavender, while the spot on only has Valerian. But if your cat is not used to wearing a collar, then she may not tolerate the collar well. I would contact the company to discuss the specifics of your move and ask them for a recommendation. As far as other products to consider to help stranger cats get along, I have a couple suggestions (although the Beaphar products may be very helpful). The goal is to decrease stress between the cats. One option for decreasing stress is to add a Feliway Diffuser ( https://www.feliway.com ) to your house. This is a calming pheromone that will work for a month. I have also had luck with Rescue Remedy ( http://www.bachflower.com/rescue-remedy-pet/ ) which can be added to the water. You could also consider calming music specifically for cats ( http://throughadogsear.com/tace/through-a-cats-ear-1-music-for-calming/ ). Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.
