My dog has very bad allergies and currently has some hotspots and what looks to be potential skin infections. His vet is familiar with this with him, but he has been at the vet several times in the past few months and I’d prefer not to stress him out
Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. From the pictures it appears that Dune may be dealing with a skin infection. If you are unable to get him in to be seen by the veterinarian, I would recommend the below products, which can all be found online quite easily. Do this for about 3-4 weeks and if there is no improvement, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Dune so that the most appropriate treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! What can I buy for my dog for flea dermatitis
If there is a secondary bacterial infection, I would recommend using product called Duoxo Chlorhexidine + Calm shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved. I would also recommend picking up a hydrocortisone spray (Well and Good at Petco) and apply daily to the affected area to relieve inflammation. If it does not resolve or worsens, I would have a veterinarian take a look at Harley so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps!

I have started taking my dog to a dog sitter during the day and I have noticed that he is getting bumps around his mouth. They don't seem to bother him. He around a lot of dogs now and I think it may be from sharing water.
This is a superficial pyoderma (skin infection) but from what, I do not know. I suggest you use these medicated pads topically on the affected areas until they are gone. If after about 7-10 days there is no improvement, he should see a vet.
