I'm so sorry to hear that Wesson has degenerative myelopathy (DM). It is a horrible disease that we see far too commonly. There isn't any treatment that is proven to slow the progression of DM other than regular exercise. That being said, there are some recommendations for diet and supplements. The most common protocol that people have used is Dr. Clemmon's DM diet and supplement recommendations. I am attaching a link to his website below. http://dog2doc.com/neuro/DM_Web/DMofGS.htm He recommends a LARGE number of supplements which I think is too much for most dogs and clients to handle, so I will usually try to find a good quality antioxidant and multi-vitamin to add to a homemade diet. Hello, and thanks for contacting Boop by Petco. Yuck, Ozzy! You should monitor Ozzy for signs of GI upset, which may show up in the next few days. If he develops diarrhea, decreased appetite, or vomiting, I'd have him seen by your vet and take an x-ray to make sure everything's passing appropriately, especially if he ate that bird in one gulp! Honestly, he'll probably be just fine unless he's got a particularly sensitive system. If he develops a little diarrhea but otherwise seems fine, then a couple days of bland white rice with lowfat boiled chicken breast may help. Hope this helps!

Thanks for reaching out. Sound like you have a full house. 1. Birds will often bond together but continue to work with them in a quiet environ, offering treats to win and re-enforce trust. Toys, the radio or tv, can all assist with boredom. Setting up foraging toys so birds need to spend time looking for food. 2. There is no such thing as too big a cage. 3. Heating rocks are rarely approved for use, as they will eventually become faulty and get too hot, potentially damaging the animal. A heat lamp is recommended. 4. The bunny's litter box should be spot cleaned daily and full clean weekly. If you can smell it you waited too long. Good luck.

My dog just ate a dead bird or caught and ate the whole bird should I be concerned?
A dead bird could cause gastrointestinal upset like vomiting or diarrhea and I suppose there’s a chance that the bones could cause an obstruction. There are some parasites like coccidia that could be transmitted, but honestly I feel like most dogs are fine after ingesting carcasses. I would recommend monitoring him for vomiting and diarrhea and contacting your veterinarian if noted.
