Nexgard is an excellent product that provide tick protection in addition to flea prevention. Bravecto is a similar product, but it provides coverage against fleas and ticks for 3 months. All of these medications require a prescription. I would recommend discussing them with your vet to determine the best fit for Charlie.

Hi there! Bruce's behavior is very interesting, and understandably concerning. Comfortis hasrarely had some documented neurologic side effects in certain animals, but I have not seen or heard of this specific reaction. I highly recommend that you let your vet know about the behavior, and call Elanco's (manufacturer of Comfortis) adverse event reporting line, as they like to keep track of any possible negative outcomes from their drugs. They may even be able to give you some insight on the behavior, and whether or not other people have been reporting it. Their number is 1-888-545-5973. Comfortis is a great product, and it sounds like Bruce is no worse for the wear even after these bouts. Involving your vet will help you decide if it's worth it to keep using the Comfortis, or to perhaps switch to a different product. Good luck, and I hope that Bruce stays happy and healthy!

You can use a Preventic collar, a Seresto collar, or a topical medication such as Frontline or K9 Advantix along with Comfortis for tick coverage. Or, if you prefer to stick with oral medications, you can switch from Comfortis to Nexgard or Bravecto - both of these cover both fleas and ticks, and are also very effective.

Yes, as long as he doesn't vomit within 1 hour it should be effective. Always remember to give it with a meal. If he continues to vomit after the 3rd dose of Comfortis, switch your product. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
