Yes, but you need to follow up with a longer acting flea control product as well. I like Advantage, it’s effective, safe and you can buy it at PetCo. Fleas are difficult to get every one and using another product with the cap star will take care of any you may have missed. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for your dogs.
Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. I personally have found some resistance to Frontline, so I will give a flea treatment program that has always worked for me. First, I would give him Capstar. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas within 30 minutes. Then follow up with a spot on treatment, such as Advantage or Revolution. This is a treatment that has to be used once a month. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash his bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home. I hope this helps!
You can buy those products at Petco for Beaux. I would advise to only purchase Frontline or Advantix. I would not get anything cheaper than that. Be aware that these are still your best over the counter products but fleas are developing immunity to them. In general, the oral products like Simparica and Bravecto are the best. Please post if you have any additional questions.
Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. I know this problem can be frustrating. Yes, you can buy Capstar (flea pill) over the counter. It works great but only kills on the fleas that are on the dogs and continues to work for only 24 hours. After that you will need to get them on a good flea prevention and use it EVERY month without fail. You can use Capstar every day for a few days until you get a prescription medication. There is a dog and a cat version of Capstar. ( https://www.chewy.com/capstar-flea-oral-treatment-dogs-over/dp/52938 ) All pets in the house must be treated for fleas EVERY MONTH, even cats, even if they don't go outside. Frontline is not a good choice any more. Seems many flea populations have gained resistance to it. If you want to get a good prescription flea medication and not have to pay an office visit I suggest you go to a VETCO vaccine clinic in your area. You do not have to get vaccines to see the vet and get the medication. The chewable flea tablet
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! She is so adorable!!! The best combination is using Bravecto on Frontline plus as a preventative and using Capstar added on to kill as many fleas as possible. The Capstar can be used daily to effect. Also, it is very important to vacuum the house and objects in contact with her daily. This is very likely to help. Good luck and have a good night!
