What are good, affordable wet cat foods better than Fancy Feast?

I really like Hill's Science Diet, Iams (very inexpensive), or Purina for better options that are much better than Fancy Feast. It is good that you want to go with a wet food, since cats are not big water drinkers. This will help promote good kidney and urinary bladder health. You can also mix in the wet food with dry to help stretch out the wet food and make it even more affordable! What's the best high-quality, natural dry cat food for my cat?

I never recommend Blue Buffalo. It's a terrible quality of food, they have no quality control (they don't own their own factories), and there have been recalls on the food. I don't recommend Rachel Ray either. She's a TV chef with no experience in animal nutrition. As for the others, they are grain free. Grain free is a fad, and I never recommend feeding it. The foods I recommended to you in your other post are high quality. I hope this helps.

Frankly, I do not care for Blue Buffalo products because they have a history of lying about their ingredients in their diets. Hills and Royal Canin are my preferred brands. There are other limited protein food brands out there, such as Natural Balance, which has formulas with a single protein source and a single carbohydrate source, making it less likely for your cat to develop an allergy.

Wet food for senior cat with lymphoma, cachexia, chemo: Blue Buffalo?

I'm so sorry that Katie was diagnosed with lymphoma. Athough they have not done as significant of studies in cats as they have with dogs, our goals with cancer are to feed a food high in protein and fat, but low in carbohydrates. This is especially important for cats since they are obligate carnivores, so a canned food is ideal. A salmon based diet is a wonderful idea since omega 3 fatty acids can have some anti-cancer effects. My cats love Blue Buffalo Wilderness Salmon. They also love Wellness Turkey and Salmon. Cats rely on their sense of smell to entice their appetite, so smelly fish based foods are a great idea for a cat with cachexia. I also find that rotating foods on a regular basis can be very useful for cats on chemo, so they don't get turned off to a particular food if they are nauseated. I hope that was helpful! What's the best smooth, high-protein, grain-free wet food for my chubby young cat?

I feel like Wellness fits all of those categories pretty well. I guess affordable is a very relative term, but if you are only feeding one cat, one of the large cans should last you a bit. This is what I feed to my three adult cats and they all love it. You will definitely need to go to a pet food store, tractor supply, or an online supplier to obtain this food rather than a supermarket usually. Hill's also makes pretty good quality (has a grain free line) food, but I don't think their wet food is smooth like you requested. Anyway, hope this helps!
