Vet Q & AMy dog has a watery belly lump. How do I stop him eating everything?
HI, thanks for using Petcoach! He is very handsome!
It is hard to tell in your pictures where the cyst is. Also you didn't indicate if he was neutered or how old. If the cyst is on his belly, on midline, and at the area of the belly button it could be an umbilical hernia. They are not uncommon and don't hurt the pet. Your dogs appears large so I would recommend having it fixed if that is what it is. We usually fix them when the pet is neutered or spayed but you can do it at anytime. If it is not at his belly button then it is likely a cyst which are usually benign. You can discuss getting it removed with your Vet.
As for him wanting to eat everything, I think the best thing is to train him to "leave it" with treats. Keep him on a least and when he goes to eat something call his name, give him a treat and say "leave it." Over time he will understand that when you say leave it he is supposed to look at you. You can also try the gentle leader on walks. They go on their muzzle. I attached a link below. Good luck!
