Shame

The pet product industry is a real disgrace. They want you to spend hundreds of dollars to solve a simple problem. There used to be a flea product called NEXGARD that I bought for my dogs, and it protected them for six months because it worked through the animal’s bloodstream. Now the crap they’re selling out there is for applying to the dog’s fur, and that doesn’t work when you have a yard full of fleas. NEXGARD actually worked because it reacted in the dog’s blood, making fleas stay away from the dog. But guess what? The product you used to be able to buy right off the shelf at pet shops now requires a prescription, forcing you to spend more and more just to boost their profits. What a shame.

I purchased advantix 2 for my cat this year. Didn’t work. It has worked so well for so many years. But didn’t work at all this year. Spent 100+ dollars so frustrating. I probably will not buy it again. It’s as affective as the stuff you can buy at Petco. I am so bummed.

I applied K9 Advantix II for small dogs (4 - 10lbs) to my toy poodle. He's oatmeal color fur. After the application, we noticed his fur on his back where the three spot applications were, turned grayish brown in a strip. What to do with the discoloration?

  1. Give your dog a bath no less than 24 hours after application. The stripe will go away and they'll still be protected. For the medication to be effective, they can't get wet for 24 hours application. The topical does pick up dirt and fuzz, but after you bathe them it will be gone.

I have a 50 lb pit bull. Looking for good flea protection. He scratches often. Would advantix work?

  1. Advantix also repels pests.  Most flea treatments only kill fleas when they bite.  So Advantix may work for your dog.

What is the best one for a 8 week old German Shepard puppy?  Do I just got by the weighed when purchasing?

      1. If possible, go to the store and ask a qualified assistant for your first purchase. It is determined by what your dog weighs, that is correct.

What do I do if live fleas are visible beyond 12 hours of application?
