Whether you have a pair of excitable guinea pigs or a pair of mischievous ferrets, caring for small animals can be a rewarding experience. As cleanliness and hygiene is vital to your pet companion's overall health and well-being, it's important to keep up with the maintenance needs of your pet companion's cage or habitat. Using a soft and absorbent type of pet bedding or litter within your pet chinchilla, gerbil or mouse's cage will help to make pet waste easier to clean up, while it also helps to control pet waste odors. Furthermore, using a type of litter pan within your pet's cage or habitat will help to contain your pet's waste within one area, which also makes for easier cleaning and maintenance. As most small animals have a natural tendency to eliminate in one particular area, using a litter pan can often times train them to eliminate in an area that you have specified. To best accommodate your pet hamster, guinea pig or rabbit, there are different types of litter pans available, such as a corner litter box for saving space within the cage or habitat as well as even litter training kits, which come complete with a scoop and a corner litter box. Give your small animal the very best care today through a well-maintained cage or habitat using a safe and highly absorbent type of pet bedding and a pan or litter box.

i have 3 ferrets who won't use their litter box and use the shelves instead. i saw an item that was a cleaning spray for bird cages to remove poop. do you think it would be ok and work on my ferret cage?
Do you have any suggestions for litter box or harness training. Also, can I use pine shavings for their bedding as it is not a red wood?
My cat poops in the bath tub. I tried 2 litter boxes. I tried keeping water in the bath tub (which made mold). Even with water in the bath tub, she stopped using 2 litter boxes and started dropping her poop right out side the box. People have suggested changing the litter (World's Best). What would be the best litter to use. She is 7 and may have chronic pancreatitis. Thank you.
I just adopted mittens from my local shelter on June 8. When I brought him home he was very scared. Now he has settled in our home. I found out that mittens doesn’t like scented litter and was refusing to use the litter box. So I bought him arm and hammer unscented litter. I put him in the litter box and he sniffed it and jumped out. What should I do now? He has been going potty in the shower, should I put the litter box in the shower?
I know that it's not recommended that kittens use clumping clay litter due to concerns about ingesting the sodium bentonite clay and resulting gastrointestinal problems/intestinal blockage. What isn't clear is whether or not this rule applies to biodegradable clumping litters like corn and walnut. If a kitten ingests one of these clumping litters, will it lead to problems, or will the litter degrade in the digestive tract? Thank you for your help!
Hello my cat is an inside and out cat, I live in Florida. I have two litter boxes for him it is a clumping brand so it's an easy clean up, he has no problem using them. the question is the box I have put outside is clumping with out my cat using it, and when it does start to clump he doesn't use the one out side.... but still uses the box with the same litter inside. Which litter should I use out side?
I have four pet rats, about 7 months old. I've noticed recently that their pee is smelling EXTREMELY strong, not at all their usual cage smell. We've been having to change their bedding every day because the smell is burn your nose strong as if we've been letting it sit for days. We haven't changed their bedding type (we use recycled paper bedding). We recently changed their diet, though, as recommended by our usual vet. They are on oxbow rat pellets and weekly fruits & veggies. Help??
Is this okay to use for my guinea pig? I'm used to the carefresh with the heart and the animals on the front in the picture, but the mostly blue green one I'm nervous about. I don't want Cosmo getting any reactions. Are they the same brand but different packaging?
Hi, I used Lysol disinfectant spray to clean my cat's litter box then rinsed it off with a mild fish soap. Is this okay do me to do? I also use this spray to clean surfaces throughout house by make sure to keep my cat away when I'm cleaning.
I saw many breeders using sawdust or wood mulch for whelping box bedding is it good?
My 19 yr old cat with diagnosed kidney disease has started eating his clumping clay litter. Is pine clumping litter safe or would nonclumping pine be safer?
Eevee has been having problems using the litter box this week. She seems to pee on her foot and then it gets coated in litter, so she is running around the house scattering litter. Aside from clearing out the old waste from all the boxes (I have been cleaning them 2x daily in case it was too much clutter but that is not what the problem is I guess), what could help her with her peeing issue? We do plan to spay her after the holidays as money is currently tight, which may help, we know.
