Too small for a guinea pig, but the design idea is good! My piggie is small, 1.5#, full grown, and it is too small fof her! It tipped when she went to use it, as it has 3 rounded legs, one on each corner. That spooked her, too! Not the right product, but a corner model to save space is a great idea!

This was purchased to be used as a cage corner hay bowl for one of our rabbits. This particular rabbit (bless her pee picking heart) has issues with hay. We have tried a hay box with a side hole, she digs it all out and then won't eat it because she has now broken all the long pieces. Tried a hay rick, large 2 lb ceramic dog bowl; ripped off the wall and sat in and peed respectively. Tried just a pile of hay on the floor, 10 minutes later it looked like a tornado went thru the place leaving behind hay mixed with massive amounts of poop and a puddle of pee. Grrrr. Last hope was this small corner pan. Chip-clipped it to the cage so she can't move it and filled it with hay. She LOVES it! No poops, pee or massively scattered hay. She still will sit in it, but not as a litter pan. No waste of expensive Timothy hay either. I wish we had found this 3 years ago.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I think it could be good for really small animals, but it was too small for my 8 week old rabbit, I use it as a hay feeder, and it works great for that!

No, I do not recommend this product.

A little smaller than I thought but looks much better than the one that comes with the kaytee home kits (that lime green is awful) I received the blue and it looks nice in the ferret cage. The green or grey would’ve been fine as well but I do wish you could choose the color

Yes, I recommend this product.

Perfect size for a growing rabbit. We purchased the small one first and it was TINY. For a gerbil yes but not for a rabbit.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not the best for rabbits

I bought this 6 months ago and it’s been a nightmare trying to litter train our male Holland lop with this litter pan. He also likes to knock it off the cage and flip it over. I do not suggest getting this while you’re in the training stage. We are getting a small cat litter box that will allow for more room for our rabbit to do his business in as this one is just not big enough for him.

No, I do not recommend this product.

  1. Hi Connor58, This is not very deep, but it could work as long as you don’t fill it too high. Thanks,

what are the dimensions and will it be big enough for male rats?

  1. I found these measurements online for the same item 12.5 x 10 x 5.8 inches. I have 2 of the medium size for my 3 ferrets in my enclosure. You don't mention how many male rats you have so if you have one male rat, you'll be fine, I'd say even for 2 rats. Any more than that I would go with 2 litter pans. I'm not sure about rat behavior but my ferrets LOVE to tip their litter pans over. I've tried the locking litter pans (not strong enough, they don't hold on for 5 minutes) I've punched holes in mine and have them secured with wire and it's worked for the past 6 months. If you do this, make sure you watch that your little guy doesn't chew on the wire. That could be dangerous for them. Mine can't be bothered with the wire. It's all about trial and error I think. But if you're just trying to figure if it's big enough for 1 male rat, I think you're perfectly fine with that.

Will this also be easy enough for a 2-3 month old kitten? the box I have currently is a bit of a struggle for her to get in.

  1. Hi Angelgirl94, We would suggest this: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/so-phresh-open-litter-box-in-linen Thanks,
