Bacterial and fungal infections are commonly found in aquarium life from time to time. They typically originate from poor water quality, poor hygiene, infection from other aquatic life or other health issues that have gone untreated. The quicker you can identify an issue and start treating, the better chance your fish have of recovering. Some visible signs of illness to keep an eye out for include ulcers, cysts, decaying tissues or fins, or cottony growths. Common behaviors to watch for include fish holding their fins close to their body, erratic swimming, gasping for air or not eating/spitting food out.
Most fungal infections occur as a secondary issue caused by parasites or bacterial disease. If a fungal infection does occur, most common types encountered are Achyla and Saprolegnia.
Mouth Rot or Columnaris, Fin Rot, Dropsy and Swim Bladder Disease are some of the more common bacterial diseases encountered.

The fish has attacks of fast uncontrolled movement since we have it. Sometimes it hits itself on walls and objects. Lately it lays down on the floor on the side and rubs itself on objects. It got scratches all over and hurt his eye. It eats normally. No visible parasites, but seems something itches it on the skin. We bought Imagitarum Parasites Remedy, but hesitate to use it as some reviews say fish died of it. We also have shrimps and snails. Should we use the remedy?
My fish have white fuzz all over their bodies. I have been treating them since Monday and it keeps spreading am I treating them the wrong way? Is there more I should be doing.

Is the smell of Pimafix and a Melafix bad for Tiny? My fish have fungus and fin rot, and from what I heard both medicines contain essential oil/oils (I’m not sure which). It’s kinda of strong.
Concerned about what possible skin diseases?? Some of my fish possibly may have. Is it a possibility that some just algae on them. I recently treated the tank with copper sulfate because I believed that fish may have velvet.. however two days later; the tank seems to have more algae in it and the fish don’t seem any better in appearance. I don’t know if they had velvet but thought using that treatment would’ve helped in this situation. But it didn’t so want to know that they have.
I have a wolf fish that seems to be sick. He is upside down in the tank now for 24 hrs. He is still breathing but seems to bee struggling. I have increased the temp in the tank and added aquarium salt. I have added a bacterial and fungal treatment today into the tank. I have used some moss to prop him up correctly in hopes this will help him. What would u suggest? Please help.
Im unable to tell if my betta fish has ich or a fungus. He's been acting strange, he darts around the hospital tank and only comes up for air, otherwise he is at the bottom. he has white spots that I've been treating for ich with paragaurd, but they are not going away. I did some reproach and I cannot tell if what he has is ich or a fungus. He is breathing rapidly and I just don't know what to do or what to treat him with. He has never had any health issues before and he is still eating normally
Both my cats have a bacterial or fungal infection, I can’t take them to their vet, any product recommendations? Also can the infection be transmitted to humans if we don’t touch them or come near their staying area?
My year old has contracted either Ich or velvet. He is trying to scratch against his tank he has white patches but also when I've shined a light on him It also looks like he could have velvet. When I noticed his lethargy and his behavior I immediately transferred him into a smaller bowl to treat him with betafix (all I have until the pet shop opens covered his bowl to leave him in darkness His appetite is normal. He's bloated and is breathing but his gills I think are swollen. IDontWantHimToDie
