first of all, thanks for your advice with my african dwarf frogs! after the aquarium salt bath they are doing great and even look more vibrant now! i was wanting to know what substrate would be best in the tank. would sand be okay or would they eat that like the gravel? i have a heavily planted aquarium and need something to keep the plants in place but i dont want my frogs to eat it and have something happen to them. i find conflicting information when i research it online. thanks!
Hello. I’m still thinking my African dwarf frogs back left foot may be broken or injured. I’ve been calling all day and can’t find any vets that will see him. I feel bad because I want to do everything I can to help him since I took on that responsibility when I got him. He hasn’t eaten for 2 days so I moved him to a small container so he doesn’t have to move as much until I can find a vet. Is there anything else I can do and how do I get him to eat? I’ve tried sinking pellets, flakes, bloodworms.
Hi. I was wondering, what species of frog is roughly 2 inches in length, light green and has large feet and how much do i have to feed it?
My frog seems to have broken his foot and I finally found a vet that sees adf’s but she said she wouldn’t be able to help him because if he needs the foot amputated he would need to be put to sleep and they don’t have the chemical to do that for surgery. She recommended to give him calcium with his food, which seems to have helped a lot already. He will briefly come out from hiding behind the filter. Are there antibiotics I can give him or put in the water in case it’s infected? He lost 2 toes Now
Hi, i have an emergency, I have a chubby frog, (Asian painted bullfrog) He used to have a HUGE appetite and ate so much all the time, and starting a month in a half ago his appetite decreased significantly and by 1 month ago he completely stopped eating i tried EVERYTHING, I read oh it may be tempature, and his environment is quite cold, so I decided to move him to a warm environment and he froze up got stiff and looked horrible. So today I force fed him calcium powder & water. What can I do???
Hi there. So I am looking into getting a heat dome for my crested gecko. I know they don’t have to have a heat lam but I want him to have a UVB bulb Because it’s good for them. But I am not quite sure that type to get. Any suggestions? I was looking at petco’s tropical combo pack. He lives in a 10 g. With live plant. (I will upgrade when he is bigger) also do you know an age on him? I got him 3 months ago from petsmart. I could tell he was a male a week after I got him. (Pic from yesterday)
We just tranferred Joey from a 40 Gallon Tank to a new 90+ Gallon Terrain... He seemed to be pretty happy till today. We noticed right before we changed tanks that he had some dark coloration on his left side and tip of his tail.. He was shedding at the time so we figured it was part of it.. It has yet to go away, and today he seems VERY active, mostly attempting to climb the glass of the tank. I have attached a photo, Thank You in advance! ~Robert~
patternless leopard gecko body compulsion waves contracting and growling
I adopted a sick Leopard Gecko from a local pet store. The pet store doesn't take good care of Leopard Geckos. They have dried Mealworms, no calcium, no humidity, and their all crowed in one hide. My Leopard Gecko Geo wasn't eating Mealworms or Crickets. She is underweight and her tail is skinny. I started to get concerned so I started syringe feeding her daily with ReptaBoost. Today I saw her throw up some of the mix. It looks like she was struggling to regurgitate. Also the humidity is high.
I bought a wounded baby gecko, I mean wounded because it's tail is gone. I'm not sure how old or what gender it is yet because of it missing its tail. My questions are I put a piece of clean dried drift wood & some dried out lemons & oranges in its aquarium is that ok or harmful? I also added moisture to its substrate & shallow dish of calcium powder & crickets sprinkled with it. Its tail don't seem to growing. Its only 3+half inches long, any suggestions would be great. Please & thank you
Is this a good setup for Nighthawk, the first photo is the over all setup, the second one is the side view and the third is the water and calcium dishes. I use an under tank heater that stays at about 88 degrees Fahrenheit and the vines are fake. He has a warm hide and a cold hide with moss in it that’s i spray down every other day. The little box is another little hide that I can see him in. And the background is tile it paper rolls that were painted(they were left to dry for two weeks)
SO i am thinking about getting a leopard gecko, but i am not spending a ridiculous amount of money on a cage so i am using a plastic laundrey hamper that seems about maybe 10 gallons and i am setting up little hiddy spots and stuff but i dont know wha tbeedding i should use and how much light they need please hep :)
