Questions
Our dog is immunocompromised due to chemotherapy for leukemia. She loves these treats, but we are worried about potential bacterial contamination with dehydrated foods. What steps are taken in processing to prevent this?
- Hi there, We're so sorry to hear about your pup's health concerns. We completely understand your reason for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, the exact temperatures and cooking times of our products are proprietary information. Sorry about that! That being said, our meats, fish, and eggs are gently cooked at sufficient, required temperatures to make sure they've reached an internal temperature of at least 165°F, ensuring they are safe and free of any pathogens. The gentle cooking process means that these ingredients are fully cooked and not considered raw. The ingredients meet and/or exceed all federal standards for pathogen elimination. We also conduct regular 3rd party lab testing for Bacteria (such as salmonella, E-coli and listeria), yeast and mold, and contaminants such melamine. We also verify pH and proximate (protein, fat, fiber and moisture) and do regular testing of nutrient values for vitamins and minerals.
