Treating leather - Although our product is water-based and you usually don't want to use water on leather, many of our customers have had great success using our Stain & Odor Eliminator on their leather couches and chairs. Spray enough to cover the trouble spot and leave it until it’s dry. If the odor is still there, that means the urine has gone deep into the leather and you'll need to re-apply. Be sure to apply enough to get deep enough to get to the urine. Please note, if there was any other cleaning solution used before our product, this could render our Stain & Odor Eliminator ineffective. There are some ingredients that can kill the enzymes and beneficial bacteria in our product. Also, we like to err on the side of caution and recommend spot testing a small inconspicuous area first.

Shake gently before use. Pre-test for color fastness on a hidden area. If color appears on cloth, discontinue use. Remove as much of the stain or pet urine as possible using a highly absorbent towel. FOR NEW STAINS: 1. Set the sprayer to the stream setting. 2. Apply a liberal amount of Rocco & Roxie Stain & Odor Eliminator to the affected area. 3. Let stand 30-60 minutes, then blot with a cloth and let air dry. FOR DEEP ODOR PROBLEMS: 1. Use enough product to thoroughly penetrate both the carpet and underlying pad (or upholstery and underlying cushion). If need be, remove the spray er and apply liquid directly. 2. Allow to stand for at least 1 hour (longer is better). 3. Fold a towel and place over the treated area with a weighed object on top to wick the residual liquid out of the carpet pad or cushion. 4. Once dried, vacuum and inspect. Stain and odor should be gone. If not, repeat procedure. Older stains and odors may require more than one application. FOR LAUNDRY: 1. Spray the affected area and let sit for 30 minutes, then machine wash as usual. FOR FRESH URINE: 1. Remove as much of the concentrated pet urine as possible by using paper towels or a highly absorbent cotton towel. 2. Pour 4-6 ounces of fresh, warm WATER on the accident area. Extract or absorb this water from the carpeting. DO THIS STEP 2-3 MORE TIMES. Remember, we are trying to dilute and remove as much of the urine as possible. The more urine we are able to remove through dilution and extraction, the better chance our bacteria will have in digesting the remaining urine residue. 3. Apply Rocco & Roxie Stain & Odor Eliminator to the area. Make sure you use enough product to wet the entire area. Set the sprayer to the Stream setting instead of the Spray setting to get more of the product directly on the trouble-spot and less into the air. 4. Allow the product to sit for 10 minutes or longer. On older, dried spots, allow to sit overnight. 5. Extract or absorb as much of the bacteria product as possible and allow to air dry. Helpful Hint: Cover area with a dry towel and place a weight on top of the towel. The liquid will wick into the towel as it dries. 6. Once dried, vacuum and inspect treated area. Odor should be gone. If not, repeat procedure.

No, we do not recommend that you use our product in a carpet shampooer. It's better to pre-treat the problem areas, let it sit overnight, if possible, then shampoo as normal. The key is for the product to come in contact with the urine and be given time to work. Using it in the shampooer puts it down and sucks it right back up. That doesn't allow it to go deep enough into the carpet (and pad), nor allow it the time it needs to break down and digest the urine crystals.

No, we do not recommend that you use our product in a steam cleaner. The super high heat will kill the biological ingredients in our product thus rendering it ineffective. It’s best to pre-treat the problem areas first with our product, let it sit overnight, if possible, then steam clean as normal a day or two later. The key is for the product to come in contact with the urine and then be given enough time to work. For old stains, spray the product on and leave it for a couple of days, if possible, to get down deep and consume the urine.
