Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise this puppy food, with nearly all reporting their puppies eagerly consume it, including previously picky eaters. Many cite veterinarian and breeder recommendations as a key trust factor. The kibble size is consistently praised as ideal for small breed puppies, making it easy to chew. Reviewers frequently note seamless transitions from other brands with no digestive upset. A very small number report their puppies refused the food, but this is rare. Overall, customers strongly recommend it based on palatability, professional endorsement, and digestive tolerance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our puppy loves to eat this. Once he hears the clatter noise if the food hitting the bowl, he jumps up and down and races to his dish

Questions

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

My 10 week old teacup poodle was eating Purina Pro Plan when we got her from our breeder at 8 weeks. I switched to Farmer’s Dog but I think it makes her sick. Can I switch back to purina without transitioning? I can’t mix both foods if it makes her sick.

  1. I think you are on the clear. I’ve changed my puppy’s food without transitioning, and she did fine. I would recommend getting fortiflora (probiotic from purina) to your pup as well to avoid stomach upset.

Hi! Is the recommended serving size (1 cup, for example) the amount per meal or per day? The bag instructions are unclear.

  1. It looks like it's per day. For a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, I'm feeding about 1/3 - 1/2 cup of food twice a day. It depends on how active they are as well as how old they are. When mine start to hit a growth spurt around 4-6 months, some of them need more than that. I feed puppy food until they're about a year old as long as they aren't getting too chunky.

I have been giving my 14 mo old miniature golden doodle Purina Focus Puppy Chicken and Rice from the beginning. She is now over 1 year . I am confused on what to change her over to.  She weighs 24 lbs.  What do you suggest?

  1. The most similar adult food to her puppy food is ProPlan Small Breed Adult food. It's an excellent food! There are also other ProPlan Adult foods that are very good if you'd like to give her more variety.
