Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise this headcollar for transforming walks by stopping pulling behavior and improving dog focus and control. Most report their dogs went from uncontrollable tugging to walking calmly at their side, with results often appearing almost instantly. Many note the design redirects force toward the nose rather than the neck, making guidance easier. While some dogs initially resist with pawing or escape attempts, most owners who persisted through gradual introduction with treats found resistance faded within days or weeks. A few report fit issues or rare cases where the tool didn't work, but the vast majority consider it life-changing and highly effective.

Life changing with a few notes and tips

Owner of Juno

*note, our dog is already used to having something on her face due to being muzzle trained. Because of this, I think we got to skip the difficulty of getting used to this type of collar. This absolutely transformed our walks for us. I had my dog that I avoided walking for years due to tugging, pulling, and reactivity, in a solid heel within 2 minutes of putting this on her. I was able to use a wearable leash, push my baby stroller, and walk with my dog with virtually no issues. She was not able to tug at all and it was so easy to redirect her if we saw another dog. I never imagined I would be able to have a normal walk with this dog. 10/10 get this! Pro tip (see image): we’ve had plastic clasps break on us in the past on different collars. We’ve experienced chasing our dog down and having to carry her home, so I was weary of the plastic clasp on this. To solve the issue of it potentially breaking, I bought a leash splitter with metal that would normally be for walking 2 dogs with one leash. I shortened one end as short as it could go and made the other end as long as it could go. I leave my dog’s regular martingale collar on along with this collar/lead. I clip the long end of the leash splitter to the martingale collar. I clip the short end of the leash splitter to the front of the gentle lead. This way if the plastic on the gentle lead breaks, I have a back up leash connection to my dog’s martingale collar. By shifting the balance of the leash splitter, the gentle lead still works as it should without the additional connection interfering. Additional side note: she can slip the lead off of her muzzle if she’s in a sit and I’m not paying attention but it truly is not difficult to prevent if I am paying attention. Plus I have my backup connection so I’m never worried about it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Amazing transformation!!!

I’m adopted a puppy who has really been excited on our walks- and because I live in a city (and don’t have my own outdoor space) - I have to walk him 3-5 times a day. Within the first 6weeks - I injured my shoulder, foot and fingers from him pulling so much and having very little control - despite training him diligently. He also stops from almost every dog. We would come home from most walks with him coughing from all the tugging on his trachea. I also started dreading our walks because my body is suffering and it is just unpleasant to walk him. I purchased the gentle leader yesterday and have seen dramatic improvement! I’m in awe and truly grateful for this product. I’m actually looking forward for of our morning walk tomorrow!

great product, would be better if there was a wider band option for XL breed dogs.

We bought these collars for both of our large bread dogs. We dreaded walking them because they basically were walking use and dragging us. Last night, we put the collars on and went for a walk. It was so much better. I told my husband I could not wait to write a review, but he told me to wait until we tried again. Tonight we walked them again. They are so well behaved. The walks are like night and day. I already told one of our friends about it. I will be telling others that are going through the same problem. We are so grateful for this remedy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The function of this is great and had my dog to stop pulling in the leash as well and it fit perfectly fit perfectly over his face and the durability is wonderful.

This is definitely the WORST headcollar I have ever purchased. My 12 week GSD keeps escaping it and fights it constantly. Definitely returning this item to store TODAY

Extremely disappointed

Save your money! We purchased the medium size for our 50# pointer / lab mix, set it up per the instructions, got the dog acclimated to where she was comfortable. She walked fine until a neighbor approached, she instantly jumped and lunged and the plastic 'quick snap' immediately pulled apart knocking a three year old girl to the ground (fortunately she wasn't hurt but it could have been bad). I had seen reviews criticizing the plastic locking 'snap clamp' and was happy to see that they changed it to metal, now they need to do the same thing with the 'quick snap'. They claim this is for extreme pullers but it is grossly underdesigned.

You should not advertise better walks on 1st use

Purchased this product, and it has some vague instructions on the back of the box, but no detailed instructions. The front of the box says better walks on first use, with ZERO advice to acclimate or train their dog, implying you simply put in and go. This risks a traumatic experience which leads to a lot more work, as well as a very unpleasant experience that could have been avoided. Shame on you!
