Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise this puppy food for exceptional taste acceptance and visible health benefits. Most puppies eagerly devour meals with clear excitement, and reviewers consistently report shinier, softer coats, increased energy, and regular, firm digestion. Many customers credit veterinary recommendations in their purchase decision and express strong loyalty, planning to repurchase. A few note their puppies preferred other brands or experienced sensitive stomachs, though these cases are rare. Overall, customers consider this food highly effective for puppy development and wellbeing.

Love the Lamb and Rice for French Bulldogs

It is the only food I feed my French Bulldogs! Lamb and Rice for puppies and new mamas ! Adult lamb and rice for my girls when not pregnant and just need to maintain their weight. It’s easy to keep them at a healthy weight. I do feel that the suggestion of 1/2 c 3x’s per day is too little. I feed 2/3 c 3x’s per day and sometimes a full cup at bedtime for puppies that are 13-14 weeks old. Puppies younger than 12 weeks free feed at all times. I do not produce fat adults, but I do have very healthy puppies. I again, would not feed anything other than Hills Science Diet Puppy and Adult Lamb and Rice. Thank you for making this a part of your options available. TX BreedWise French Bulldogs. Glen Rose Texas.

Puppy food needs improvement

Hills is my favorite brand but they dropped the ball on the puppy foods. 1 is chicken which many doodle dogs are allergic to. The 2nd is salmon which many more dogs are allergic to. How about a puppy food that doesn't have high allergen ingredients

Jasmine gets insanely excited for food. Every meal she jumps and barks incessantly til she gets to eat. We had to give her a slow feeder bowl to keep her in check.

Questions

1 - 10 of 10 Questions

What is the expiry of these products?

  1. I just bought some last month February 28th 2026 and I looked on my bag and it says Best buy May 2027. But that is unopened. Once you open it it usually has a shelf life of around 2 months. Depending on how you keep it. I would recommend if you're going to spend the money for quality dog food like this that you invest in a dog food container with a screw top to lock out any moisture or air.

are this puppy kibbles larger than the small bites?

  1. Thank you for your inquiry. Our Hill's Science Diet Puppy Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe features kibble that is approximately 10mm x 4mm. In comparison, the Hill's Science Diet Puppy Small Bites Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe has kibble that is about 6.5mm x 4mm, and the Hill's Science Diet Adult Small Bites Chicken & Barley Recipe Dog Food has kibble measuring approximately 9.5mm x 5.5mm. We hope this is helpful. Hill's Pet Nutrition

Is the bag resealable?

  1. Yes, it has a wide Velcro to reseal that does not wear out through full use of product.

About How long will it take to go through a 30lb bag for a mini dachshund puppy?

  1. I have a 22 lb mix and it took him two + months to go through a bag.

How big are the nuggets? My pup was on the large breed puppy food & the nuggets were just too big- are these the same size or smaller? Thank you.

  1. Thank you for your question. This kibble is certainly smaller when compared to the Puppy Large Breed food. We hope that your pup loves it! Hill's Pet Nutrition

puppy gas

  1. Thank you for your question. Science Diet may be a viable option. Bad gas could be a sign of a food allergy or sensitivity. Trying different foods or consulting your veterinarian would both be potential solutions.

When my wheaton turns one, which sceince diet dry do I feed her ?

  1. We are happy to answer your question! Since your puppy has enjoyed Hill's Science Diet Healthy Development Original Puppy Food, our Science Diet® Adult Advanced Fitness Original Dog Food would be a good adult food for her. As with any change in pet foods, we always recommend a gradual transition. If your Wheaton has any medical conditions, please consult with your veterinarian.

Switching to adult food

how often do I feed a 12 week old puppy

    1. Three times a day. Especially the smaller breed dogs and the larger breed dogs. Always refer to the dog food bag and your vet for additional guidance.

I have a 6 months french bulldog and i dont know if he will eat the small or large breed and wich type of the puppy ones, can you help me?

    1. Since your dog is small, he will need a small breed dog food. Wellness puppy dog food is great. I started my American Bulldog on it but I had to change since I found out he is allergic to chicken. Other than that, I recommend wellness since it has no by products, fillers, or ingredients that may be found in Science diet. Bull dogs have more sensitive tummies than most breeds
