My rabbit escaped the backyard. What should I do to find my lost pet?

It sounds like this bunny has found a safe home with you and perhaps with time she will become more content. I would consider calling local vets offices to see if any know of missing bunnies (sometimes owners will call the vet's office to see if anyone has found their pet), and consider looking at online sites like craigslist or community facebook pages. This sounds potentially quite dangerous as Bun Bun could suffer trauma or predation while out on her adventures. I would recommend keeping her in a rabbit enclosure or a closed room inside your house, especially when you’re leaving the house and not supervising her. She can free roam when you’re there to keep an eye on her, but if you’re opening the door to leave or having people over, she should be confined. This will prevent her running out the door again. As for not remembering your sister, she probably does but may still be on high alert from her outside events and may need some time to calm down and respond more normally to people. As a prey species, rabbits are always on high alert for dangers, and the chemicals in her body need some time to adjust to the change in scenario.

If you believe that Boston Bunnelby may have been injured by his cage, I recommend bringing him to your veterinarian. He/she can perform a full physical exam and look for evidence of soft tissue or skeletal injury and treat accordingly, if needed. If he is otherwise moving around as usual and acting normally (eating, drinking, urinating, defecating) normally, I would not be concerned. I hope this is helpful!

Unfortunately, it sounds like you are already doing everything you can to try and get Blue back. If you have a local animal shelter or vet, you may ask if they've had any reports that might meet Blue's description, or put up posters at their office. Otherwise, keeping up with what you are doing may help if she is nearby.

I am sorry Orion has gone missing. It appears you've done quite a bit already. I would recommend contacting local veterinary clinics and maybe posting a flyer with a picture of Orion. If he is microchipped, contact the company to notify them. In the event that he is in the area, get some dry food and pour it into an aluminum pie tin while outside. Gently rattle it while calling his name. If he hears, he may come running. Ask neighbors on your street and neighboring streets to keep an eye out for him. I hope you find him or someone returns him soon.

It is not unusual for a cat to come back home and they are good tracing back their way home. If he has a microchip you can check if he has been found at any of the local shelters. Awwww, she's probably so scared. If you feel that the area under the house is somewhat safe, I might consider leaving her be while you obtain a solution. A have-a-heart trap would be great in this instances. You could put something delicious in the trap, and the bunny will be yours once again. It's a little difficult to make any other suggestions for something like this without actually seeing the area and knowing what you have available to you. Luring with the humane trap seems like the best choice though in my opinion.
