I have a pet ferret named Bowser. This morning I noticed his stool was liquidy and very dark in color, it looked black. I recently changed his food a couple of weeks ago from pre-packaged diet to a loose bulk diet of the same food. Everything other than the stool has seemed normal. He's been eating/drinking, playful, no sign of physical discomfort. What does this mean and should I take him to the vet for a check up?
