My bunny ate avocado, now not eating for 8 hours. What to do?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | spayed | 9 years and 6 months old | 4 lbs

My bunny ate an avocado about 48 hours ago. She is 9 years old. She popped a lot but other than that seemed normal. The past 8 hours she hasn't been eating.

Thanks for reaching out about Squishy. Try offering water and food through a syringe. Anorexia could b due to the avocado (high fat) but also general gastric stasis. If not eating by tomorrow morning, a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan.
Good luck.
