My leopard gecko ate partially decomposed crickets. Is she okay?

If they were refrigerated, it may not cause any harm. The concern is them eating rotting prey. Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite, loose droppings or regurgitation. You may end up taking them to your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles for exams and supportive care if they develop any of the symptoms mentioned above.

Geckos are not toxic, but may carry parasites that could be harmful. At worst, you may see some temporary stomach upset. Hello. This doesn't sound like anything to be worried about at this stage. I would be more worried if she was bloated or the stomach was hard. That being said, it is hard for me to say much without examining her myself. As long as she is eating and drinking and acting normally I would just monitor her and see if this condition persists. I think Ron Junior should be fine. Hopefully he is just full. If you are truly worried the only option I can give you is to take him to a reptile vet for an exam. One reason for open mouth breathing in reptiles is respiratory infection. It just may be coincidental that he started this breathing after eating so many crickets. The most common reason for illness in captive reptiles in improper husbandry. I suggest you make sure you have his housing, lighting, temperature, etc correct.
