My corn snake threw up its food. Why did this happen after handling?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Reptile | Other Snake | Female

I was wondering why my corn snake vomited its meal. I fed it a frozen-thawed fuzzy four days ago. I was just socializing it for about 20 minutes and after placing it in its enclosure, it vomited the meal it had.

Thanks for reaching out about Kernel. Regurgitation can be due to stress or disease. If the fuzzy was not fully thawed, Kernel might has regurgitated due to the cold. Sub-standard husbandry (too cold environment) can also lead to this condition. Diseases such as infections or parasites need to be investigated. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan.
Good luck.
