My yellow fish has blue eyes & stays at the top. What is it?

Mollies do come in gold or orange colorations, but it is difficult to determine from that angle. If you can repost a broadside picture in a new question, that may make identification easier. If it is an egg laying species of fish, the third image could be an egg but I have reservations saying definitively without something for scale. It looks too large to be an egg. As an aside, if you leave the Molly fry in with adults, they will likely be eaten. You can separate the out, remove the adults, use a breeder screen or provide plenty of cover for them.

The black fish is a Black Moor Goldfish. The white fish is a kissing gourami. It is commonly called a "kissing fish". This species of Gourami can be very territorial. What it is doing is bullying the Moor and trying to chase it away. You may need to remove one or the other. Gouramis are best kept in pairs or small groups. Consider also removing some of the plastic plants as they may injure the Moor's eyes.

Sometimes fish will sink to the bottom of the tank when they aren't feeling well - it is sort of like when we don't feel good and need to lie down to rest. This weakness may be related to what you are seeing on the eye. If there is a disease or problem going on with the eye, it may be making Sunbeam sick. To figure this out for sure, Sunbeam would need to go to a veterinarian. The vet would be able to take a look at his eye, and then may recommend treatments on how to make Sunbeam feel better. Food, genetics and stress can all affect colors. There are color enhancing diets that you can buy. Maintaining pristine water quality and stable chemistry will limit stress. If the fish has muted colors due to genetics, there is nothing to be done. As far as being "shy", this can be due to anything that is stressful or potential illness or injury. This would require and exam to diagnose.

If constantly hanging at the surface or when stops swimming bobs to the surface, that is an indication of a possible swim bladder disease. Then a veterinary visit is recommended. Fish usually sleep in the middle of the water column or behind furniture where they feel safe. Always when concerns, check water quality parameters with a test kit. Good luck.

It could be an infection (bacterial or fungal) or it could be due to trauma from other fish or tank furniture. Confirm proper water quality and chemistry. You can try some plain aquarium salt (NOT table salt or epsom salt) as a general tonic. It may reduce stress, improve gill function, treat minor infection and aid in recovery. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of salt per 5 gallons of water in a cup or two of tank water and gently pour it into the tank. Treat for 10-14 days then reassess the condition. Perform partial water changes to decrease salinity afterwards. Use only aged or conditioned water that is temperature matched to prevent stress or shock. Goldfish are cold water fish and do best between 65 F and 72 F.

Thanks for reaching out. Not sure how when the lights were turned on, the fish responded when it had no eyes. Could the corneas be cloudy? This could be due to trauma from an aggressive fish, parasitic infestations, or infections. A veterinary visit would be recommended. If the one has no eyes, it needs to be humanly euthanized as can not find food and will starve to death or succumb to infection. Continue to test water quality and correct any problems. Good luck.
