Why are my parrot fish fighting and stressed in their 10-gallon tank?

I recommend to start with 3-4 fish. These can be housed with other fish but they need to be within the same 'community'. Decorations are important because they give fish a place to hide. Provide a few large rocks, arches and covered areas where fish can hide. Then you can place the plants around the structures. Live plants can aide in providing healthy water. Tetra is a good fish food brand. They have been around a long time and have many varieties to chose from to meet your fish's needs. Make sure to supplement with fish as described in the article as well. Lastly, the frequency of water changes depends upon your tank including water hardness, number of fish, size of tank, filtration system and if live plants are present. A good rule of thumb is a 25% water change every 2 weeks. Cichlids may not be the best choice for a first time fish owner without doing some prior research. I recommend to read up on general aquarium care, cichlid care and to stop by your local aquarium store to discuss any issues specific to your location (such as water hardness, mineralizations within the local water or low/high pH levels). This could be due to having a tank that is too small. 6 goldfish in one tank poses several potential issues. Ideally, 1 fish should have a 20 gallon tank with an additional 10 gallons provided per extra fish. This would mean they should be in at least a 70-75 gallon tank. The reason being goldfish produce a larger than average bio-load (wastes) that can quickly overwhelm a small tank and filter. Poor water quality can lead to stress and infection as well as behavioral issues. Depending on their sizes, the present tank could be overstocked leading to bullying and fin nipping. Check the water quality and chemistry. Use a home test kit or submit a water sample for testing. Most pet stores will do this for free or for a small fee. Aim for an absence (0 ppm) of ammonia and nitrites with a nitrate level of 20 ppm or less. Perform partial water changes, if indicated, to stabilize chemistry and maintain or improve water quality. Use only aged or conditioned water that is temperature matched to prevent further stress or shock. Goldfish are cold water fish and do best between 65 F and 72 F (18.3 - 22.2 C). Make sure the filter is rated for at least twice the volume of the tank. If possible, separate out the aggressive goldfish to a different tank to prevent further bullying and injury.

As long as thee oscars are small there will be no problem, however they grow very fast and they will eat all your other fish except the gouramis. So yes, you will need a separate tank for them and preferably at least a 40 gallon tank. The same is true for the parrots, another cichlid species.

All these fish can grow quite large. The loach would be the "smallest" at about 6 to 8 inches when full grown. The Oscars can reach lengths of 18 inches and the Texas cichlid and sharks can reach a foot in length. All these fish will require much larger tanks than the ones you have now. The three Oscars alone would do best in a 125 gallon aquarium MINIMUM. The others may thrive in 55 to 75 gallon tanks. To leave them in small tanks will cause stress, aggression and likely infection.

Keep an eye on them, and move them into a larger tank if they get significantly larger or you notice signs of fighting or increasing ammonia levels in the tank.

I do not think it is advisable. Blood parrot fish need a different temperature range from Discus fish. It is also likely that the parrot fish will bully the discus fish, which would stress them extensively possibly even causing their eventual death.

Thanks for reaching out. Pale gills are a serious concern. Providing additional oxygen is necessary for anemic animals to continue to deliver oxygen to organ. An airstone and pump will help, but an oxygen bottle would be better. As for a cause, a gill biopsy would be the first stop to rule in/out parasites or bacterial gill disease.
