My young dog's limping again. Is it pano or another bone problem?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 1 year and 3 months old

My gsd started limping at 6 months on front right leg,had x rays done, no sign of fracture or brake and no signs of elbow dysplasia. The limp lasted about 10wks and then she was fine running around. She has just turned 14 months and started limping again in same front right leg. Could this be pano or something else.

Yes it is possible Bella could have panoestitis or hypertrophic osteodystrophy. I would have x-rays done again to see if there is any radiographic evidence of either of these diseases. Both are typically self limiting, but Bella may benefit from pain medications which the vet can prescribe.
