Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. You can start from as young as 8 weeks by getting your puppy used to wearing a collar for periods of time. Teach leash walking as a fun game, anywhere from 10-12 weeks onwards, depending on the individual pup - but just don't expect too much too soon. I hope this is helpful!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Brody is adorable!

As soon as possible! He is old enough now to practice. You can let him drag a leash around, use the leash when you take him out during house training, to the vet and to puppy classes. He will get it quickly!

    I hope this helps!
