My vaccinated dog bit someone. Could they get rabies from the bite?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 1 month old | 33 lbs

I ardy ask this question here but gave incomplete information. Anyway, my dog accidentally bite someone it’s just a small bite tho but it did bleed. My concern here is that possible that the bite have rabies? My dog was gave to me when he was a pup by my neighboor and after reaching right age he got vaccinated way back march this year. So is the rabies still possible? Tho he is always tied inside our backyard and never have exposure outside the gate and never have contact with other animals

If Cooper has been vaccinated for rabies this year, then no there is no chance of him having rabies. The rabies vaccine lasts either a year or three years depending on the brand given. You have no need to worry.
