Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Female | spayed

Hello the fox is taking chickens from our neighbors and eating them and leaving leftovers on meadow. ( i read it somewhere that chickens don't get rabies)And then my dog is taking that chinkens leftovers and eating them. (She (dog) was eating that chicken i think 5 days ago) And today my dog licked me on my lips (mouth) and im scared if i maybe got rabies. I know that my dog was vaccinated for rabies. Can then the virus spread to me ?

Hi! It's fantastic that Pikica has been vaccinated against Rabies. I wouldn't be concerned. It's most likely that Rabies hasn't been transferred to you or your pet. You'll want to be sure to keep your pet up to date on heart worm prevention and that Pikica is fully protected against intestinal parasites. Parasites can be easily transmitted between wild and domestic animals. Keep up the good work!
