Unfortunately it’s impossible to know if any of the adult fleas laid any eggs before they were killed by the tablet. Female fleas with a 50 eggs every single day and the eggs will hatch out in 3 to 6 months. Therefore it’s anyone’s guess as to if cleaning and using the rest of your pills will work or if there are already eggs in the environment that will not hatch out for 3 to 6 months. Your best option is to put her on a monthly flea pill like Simparica. If your puppy is going to travel around, it is a better option to keep her on prevention then to try to deal with and worry about an infestation. Certainly vacuuming every day, washing bedding and any other area where the puppy goes may help but you may not remove all the flea eggs. Pretty much all of the OTC flea medications are safe for 7 month-old puppies. There are several options, such a monthly topicals, flea collars, or a Seresto collar. Flea shampoos don't work well at all. Prescription oral flea preventative seem to work the best, in my opinion, so I would recommend that Grace be checked out by a vet so she can get started on one of these. Please know that it can take several months of consistent treatment to get rid of a flea infestation. Fleas don't live on the dog, they only jump on at bedtime. So, if you see a 2 or 3 fleas on Grace at one time, then there could be 20-30 fleas off of her, laying eggs to make new fleas! These are likely to be fleas (although a pic of it would help to determine the underlying cause more specifically).Here is a list of good quality flea (and ticks) treatment.
