My dog eats cat food. How can I stop her without moving bowls?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Female | 50 lbs

Sara just loves cat food other than putting my cats food bowls up on the counter or in a room she can’t get to (not really an option) any suggestions on how to get her to stop?

Sara is lovely! Unfortunately I don't think there is any possible way you will train her not to eat the cat's food. Maybe you could get a foldable table especially for the cats to eat on? Or you could put the food inside a carrier on the floor that the dog couldn't fit into.
