Why does my spayed dog have a red lump and is throwing up?

If the area is leaking a clear/light pinkish fluid, that makes me thing she has a seroma. A seroma is a collection of fluid, usually occurring at an incision site. This is not a medical emergency, so I would wait to take Lily into the vet until Monday. Keep her quiet and rested until then, no running, jumping, or playing. Take her out to toilet on a lead only, and bring her right back in when done. I would keep an eye on the swelling, and if pus starts coming out, or it becomes red, swollen, or warm to the touch, then I would bring her into a vet right away.

This doesn't look perfect but definitely does not look too bad either, there is some bulging as you mentioned, probably because the stitches have been put on a little too tight, as long as the stitches hold though i would not be too worried, you need to make sure she does not lick the area (i assume she has an E-collar on) and make sure the incision does not open up, the swelling should start resolving within a couple days from now. as long as it does not look worse than this i would be ok keeping her at home, you can still take her for short walks without any issues and your vet needs to see her at some point but it is not urgent (usually post opps are done 3 days and 10 days after the surgery).

I would recommend that Linda see a vet. The lump may or may not be related to her other signs but vomitting and diarrhea with lethargy can become serious quickly in small breed dogs. Blood in her stool and brown vomitus indicates bleeding in her GI tract so she may be at risk of anemia as well as dehydration. She should be seen asap if she is still vomitting or lethargic and depressed. And mammary cancer is more likely to occur in unspayed females so the lump should be checked out as well. I hope Linda is feeling better soon.

The most likely cause is a suture reaction, similar to how the body tries to get rid of a sticker in your finger. However, an infection or a hernia are also possible. I would encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian soon. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.

I'm sorry Piggy isn't doing well! The lump under her skin could be caused by a local inflammatory reaction to the vaccine, but it should have resolved by now. That is something that should be seen by the vet. I am very concerned that she has a greenish discharge coming from her vagina, and she could be suffering from a condition called a pyometra. If only her ovaries were removed during her spay, then the uterus remains and is still prone to developing an infection. She could also have a stump pyometra. This is when the remnants of the uterus become infected, and while it's not common, it is serious when it occurs. Finally, she could be suffering from vaginitis, an infection of the vagina. Homeopathic sepia will not treat any of these. If she still has her uterus, it will need to be removed and she will need antibiotics. A stump pyometra will also need to be treated surgically, and will require antibiotics. Vaginitis requires antibiotics. She should see a vet immediately to diagnose what is causing the green discharge so she can be treated. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

I do see some redness and swelling. I'm wondering why Lucy is training so soon after getting spayed, her exercise should be restricted to allow the incision to heal properly. It looks like there could be some inflammation at the site of the incision. That could be due to her body breaking down the sutures, or she caused some sort of trauma to the area. If she is acting normal and you don't feel any swelling around that area I would wait and see if it improves. But if there is swelling, drainage, or pain I would worry about a dehiscence (opening of the incision) which would be an emergency and she should see a vet immediately.
