Do spayed dogs need to heal before heartworm treatment can begin?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 4 years old | 38.8 lbs

My 2 female dogs where spayed today and also tested positive for heartworms do i have to wait for them to heal before they will begin heartworm treatment?

Depending on their physical condition it may be advisable to wait until the spay incision is healed. However your vet, who knows your dogs, should discuss this with you.
