Why is my senior cocker spaniel shaking, drowsy, and not eating?

Poor Lulu, she is such a pretty girl! Yes, your boyfriend could be correct that she could be shaking from pain and pain would keep her from eating. It's not normal at all that she won't eat for days on end, and she really does have to see a vet as soon as possible given this has been going on for a bit.  Brown Dog Foundation provides funding to families with a sick pet that would likely respond to treatment, but due to circumstances, there is not enough money immediately available to pay. IMOM is dedicated to insure that no companion animal has to be euthanized simply because their caretaker is financially challenged. I hope one of these resources helps you afford a vet for Lulu. He will be carefully examined to determine if this is the case or if he has another problem. Based on these results and any diagnostic testing, treatment recommendations can be made. Lili is experiencing very general symptoms of disease, these symptoms could fit almost any internal condition, maybe she is suffering from nausea due to a gastrointestinal disease and maybe she is in pain, from the symptoms described it's very hard to know. i would recommend taking her to the vet as soon as possible in order to get her checked, if she doesn't show any other obvious symptoms during the examination, a blood test and possibly an ultrasound will be needed in order to try and find out what is wrong with her.

Hello, sorry to hear about Isa. She may indeed have a herniated disk, this tends to be very painful and dogs may Yelp and whine when they move or get picked up. They also refuse to do their normal jumping on furniture and may avoid stairs. However, there are other causes for pain such as hip pain and knee pain which may also cause some limping. There are other things to consider such as GI pain especially with the diarrhea, liver or kidney disease, and pancreatitis. Isa should be evaluated by her veterinarian to rule out evidence of a herniated disk and determine where she is the most painful. Hope this helps and best of luck

It sounds like she is in pain. She could have a problem with her neck or back causing the pain. Since she is otherwise acting normal, it might not be an emergency but taking her to the emergency clinic tonight would give her some relief and make her feel a lot better. Hi, she is so beautiful and does not look her age at all. I wonder if she is feeling a bit anxious as she seems to settle when wrapped up.
