My senior dog won't eat, keeps falling, and acts strange.

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | 13 years and 5 months old

Im worried for my dog. He is a 10 year old boxer and he's been behaving strange. I noticed that he wouldn't eat no matter what I give him and now a couple minutes ago he was standing normally and then he fell. I noticed him closer not in a normal way. He's been following me everywhere.

I am sorry to hear about Sadd. Many different things can cause these symptoms in an older dog, ranging from infection to organ disease (such as liver or kidney issues), arthritis issues, pain for dental disease, and unfortunately in older dogs we do worry about cancer. I would recommend an examination by his veterinarian. They can do a good physical examination and based on that may recommend testing such as bloodwork or x-rays.
