My senior dog is bloated and sick. What to do if vets are closed?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd - miniature | Female | spayed

I’ve got a 13 yr old mini Australian Shepard that seems like she might be bloated. Hasn’t moved around much, isn’t herself. Won’t eat much and threw up last night. All the vets are closed and I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do for now

If Abbey is bloated, that is a medical emergency because it will kill her without treatment. She has to see a vet immediately. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.
