What toothpaste is safe for my diabetic dog's teeth brushing?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Poodle | Male | neutered | 12 years and 5 months old | 11.5 lbs

My mini poodle is diabetic and I would like to get him some tooth paste to brush his teeth. Do diabetic dogs need special tooth paste or can I use any dog tooth paste?

You should be fine to use any doggie toothpaste. If the tooth paste lists sugars, pick the one with the lowest sugar and use the recommended amount. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
