My puppy has white flakes after bath. Is it normal or serious?

Flakes on the skin are usually from dry skin. You can get rid of the dry skin over time by bathing him in a moisturizing shampoo weekly and brushing his coat daily. Feeding a fatty acid supplement will improve his coat from the inside out. Please make sure you are using flea prevention as scratching from fleas will often irritate the skin and cause flaking of the skin. Also feeding a good quality food for sensitive skin or a food with salmon or fish in it will add omega 3 to the diet to improve the coat. The flakes are most likely the dry skin coming off. You can give him an omega3 fatty acid supplement for sure. You need to use a product made for dogs. Hi. Skin problems can be difficult to diagnose and difficult to resolve. Your breed of dog tends to have allergies but as a puppy he may be a bit young for this. He could be having a reaction to something in his environment, have dry skin, or may have a parasite on the skin called Demodex. This parasite can cause fur loss in different areas and is more common in puppies as well as your breed of dog. You did not mention the exact medication that he is on so I cannot comment on that however I would recommend to add a high quality soothing and hydrating shampoo. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night!

That could be a normal side effect of the shampoo as well as shaving. I recommend continuing with your veterinarian's instructions and watch for any increase in redness, new bumps or skin ulcers. If those occur contact your veterinarian

Well Twix is still pretty young so the skin is changing. I would think that the skin is flaky secondary to young age. Of course nutrition and parasites can also cause abnormal skin. I would recommend discussing it with your vet at Twix's next vet appointment. Hope that helps

Please do not take veterinary advice from a pet store employee, they have absolutely on training at all in veterinary medicine. This could be dandruff, which could be due to dry skin. I would have Ayo seen by a vet to have this diagnosed and treated.
